Category introduction

Botanical Fantasy series

Inspired by fairy paintings of the late 19th century, this series of watercolor paintings depicts cats as a series of plants. The title of each work refers to the name of the plant in the painting, which displays in lettering both its scientific and English names. Many real cat models appear in this series.

Alphabet series

A series of transparent watercolors featuring the letters of the alphabet in gold and silver. Within the upper case letters are adult fairy cats, while the lower case letters feature kittens. The symbols within each piece are inspired by both the common and scientific names of the plants, as well as the cats that served as models.

Copper engraving

My etching process involves transferring illustrations to delicate copper plates by corroding the material, then filling the grooves with ink, and pressing them. Each edition produces ten sheets, and I alter the color slightly for each repeated print edition.
